don't worry, we're from here

this past weekend, austin and i stayed at a hotel on the strip in las vegas. yea, yea, i know... we're from there. we know. but it was actually kinda fun to be a tourist... sorta. we stayed at the grandview hotel... it's a little off the strip, but it was super nice. we started off our friday night with this yummy pizza... at midnight. you can thank the pregnant girl for that idea.

then on saturday, we got up and went to the temple and then went baby furniture shopping with my mom all day. i'm sure austin had the time of his life. then that night we went to dinner with some of our favorite friends, liz and dustin. if any of you haven't been to the sugar factory, you should go. well worth it. yummy food. bomb desserts. delicious.

don't worry, my husband would be a total gambler if he could be. and a total tourist.

then... we decided to really be tourists and walk the strip... okay, we only went to the m&m factory and the coca cola factory... and got cokes in glass bottles... naturally.

sunday. church day. family time. here are some recent belly pictures... 21 weeks... yay! and don't worry, alexa's was just a food baby. hers went away in an hour... and she'll still be able to button her jeans. i kissed those days goodbye. but baby girl will be worth it :)

one year... check!

austin and i made it a whole year being married... can you believe it! i know everyone says this, but it really did fly by. i feel like i was just running around like a crazy trying to get all my wedding details in line... and now here we are, married for a year with a little bambina on the way :) it's been such a fun year and i wouldn't have wanted to spend it with anyone else!
so to celebrate our whopping one year of marriage, we dicided to take a last minute trip to california. we stayed with our friends ken and lindsay and their cute little baby liv in pasadena... on saturday we thought we'd go down to huntington beach for a little while and just walk around the shops and have lunch... holy cow was i wrong. the us open surf competition was there that weekend and i swear it was like nyc on new year's eve... minus clothing. tons... and i mean tons of practically naked drunk girls running around everywhere... i could be safe in saying we were a little overdressed. and by overdressed, i mean austin was in shorts and a t-shirt and i was in capri's and a t-shirt. and... with all the girls in itsy bitsy bikini's, i totally could've rocked my prego belly in one and no one would've even noticed. not that i did, but the thought crossed my mind. so we snagged a table by the bar at bj's restuarant (which, by the way, we probably said about 5 words to each other the whole time it was so dang loud in there) and ate lunch, poked our heads in maybe 2 stores and gave up. i'm glad we paid 20 bucks to park in that mess.
after that whole mess, we headed up to la to go to a dodgers game. neither one of us are dodgers fans (or cubs fan for that matter) but i've never been to a baseball game and austin's never been to the dodger stadium so we decided to go.

it ended up being a lot of fun... and our seats weren't bad at all... and of course, what's a baseball game without all the junk food? dodger dogs, nachos, sodas, and frozen yogurt. super healthy i know.
and ps. don't mind my belly... little bambina decided she wants to be seen all the time now...

then on sunday we headed to church with ken and lindsay then went down to santa monica beach to hang out for a while...

we headed back to vegas on monday (our actual anniversary) and went to dinner at one of our favorite places geisha house

and for tradition, we had to have a piece of our year old wedding cake.

and just in case it wasn't good (which it actually wasn't bad) we got a new one from nothing bundt cakes

well, there ya have it... here's to forever my love :)
