20 minute heart attack

heart attacks are never fun, right? i've never had one (and hope i never do)... but losing your wedding ring isn't very fun either, right? yea, that's what i said. i get the wife of the year award for losing this gorgeous thing.

now on to the good part. how it happened. i guess i could start off by saying that my ring has never fit very tight... i didn't want it to. i mean, it wouldn't just slide right off... but i've never had it stuck on my finger either... so we are in the middle of moving right now... talk about a hassle with a 2 month old baby. so after moving all day, we took austin's friends who helped us move out to dinner at chili's. i had had my ring on all day and remember having it on while at chili's... but when we left, i put chandler in the car, got in the front seat and turned on my car... no ring. i immediatly got tears in my eyes. i frantically dumped out my purse on my seat hoping it was in there... i had my wallet, diapers, wipes, binky's, pens, hair ties, you name it, i had it... but no ring. so i ran back into chili's and started moving tables and chairs like a mad woman... no ring. i found my server and told her what was going on. i don't think she fully understood what kind of ring i was dealing with here cause she told me she would just call me if it turned up. uhh hello?!? i'm about to be divorced here as soon as austin finds out!! (he had already gone back to the house and had no clue what kind of mess i was in)
so my mom (who came up to help with chandler while we moved) runs into chili's and seriously tries to put the place on lockdown. she wasn't about to let anyone leave that place until we found that ring. so i'm rummaging through my purse (again) hoping i missed it the first time. no ring. at this point, i am BAWLING crying... i seiously can't believe this is happening right now. so i get in the back seat to get chandler out (who is crying by now cause she's in the car and we're not moving) and set her on the ground outside my car... i reach back in and check in her carseat base and BAM... my ring!!!!! ugh i could've died. first, cause i found my ring! and second, cause look at that crazy scene we made in chili's. so i run back in and let them know i found my ring (and that my mom could come out of the kitchen... she was searching through food... who's the crazy lady now??) just then, austin walked in, completely oblivious to what was going on thank goodness.
so... all in all, i still have my ring. and i'm still married. and i don't think i'll ever go back to chili's. how embarassing. and it's too bad... i like chili's :)

  1. It's a good thing we aren't pregnant anymore.... Much easier to suppress those Chile's cravings ;) I would have bawled too! Ah! I haven't even told Eric this story because I just know I'd get a lecture about how I better never lose my ring :)
